The  light  reactions  involve  two
   photosystems.

   A photon of light strikes a chlorophyll molecule in a light-harvesting
   complex of a photosystem, embedded in the thylakoid membrane.

   The  energy  is  passed from molecule to molecule until it reaches the
   reaction center.

   An excited electron is captured by the primary electron acceptor.
